Metropolitan Transportation Plan Summary
A three stage 30 year plan for Transportation Improvements within the
Alexandria / Pineville Urbanized area based on projections for
growth in population, housing and jobs.
The purpose of this plan is to update the MTP for the study area as
required by the Federal Highway Act of 1962 and its Congressional
revisions. The target years for this update are 2009 for the
Short Range Stage, 2019 for the Intermediate Stage, and 2029 for the
Long Range Stage.

Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The contents of this
