The Rapides Area Planning Commission's
responsibility to this project is to only serve as a mapping agency for
the parish. RAPC does not have any authority, intent,
or permission from the Parish School Board to rezone existing student
locations. Rezoning can only be performed by the
School Board at their discretion.
d the Rapides Parish School Board are working together to provide a mapping
solution in the best interest of the general public. Our objective is to
combine the important GIS layers within the Parish, and boundaries that the
two
agency's maintain or develop, into a highly accurate mapping
product. attendance Zones are among the most valuable layers to be
produced. By joining these zones with an addressing point feature or
Property Parcels, tabulations of individual households can be done to meet
the requirements of each school. This will give the public an accurate
description of each zone, and accurately place the students to their
assigned schools.
